Memories of Horikoshi: Chii.Yuto.Yamachan

Yuto Nakajima-

Well, for me my greatest memory will be my friends and teachers. I mean all of them are the best memories. Also, the cook in our school makes awesome Tomagoyaki. I will never taste that food again. Also, I never forget to greet our Guards in the school because I know that they’re protecting us.

Ryosuke Yamada-

In Horikoshi, I’m the kind of guy who is forgetful. I ‘m always been out of the classroom every lessons. Surprisingly I became smart while we’re having a test. Yuto always go out when I’m out of the room. He always keeps me in company. I will also miss our friends and teachers here. But we’re really grateful that we finally graduated. I always wear a mask at school. Of course I’ll my The school’s dusts.

Yuri Chinen-

I will really miss everything about Horikoshi. They helped me to have my career, my friends, and my good grades. Thank you for making me you 4th placer in this batch. I will really miss my friends that are not in HSJ. I miss the nights when me, Yama-chan, Yuto-chan, Kamiki-chan and Mirai-chan went Ghost hunting. It’s really a fun experience unfortuntely we didn’t see one.

Q.Recently, which member's growth do you notice?

Chii: Growth, huh. Isn't it Yuuto!? He's become more cheerful! His talks are more unusual and he can scratch his butt in front of the audience now. [Was Chii always this random? Isn't this Koppi's influence!]

(Naka: You can't call that growth right (laugh))

Yabu: I wonder who it is? Maybe Takaki. I feel like he's progressively talking more to the other members than before. Before he was more like a lone wolf, but recently it's not like that anymore. [I love how everyone answers either Yuyan or Yuuto]

What's the in thing or hobby now?

Chii: Same as always, sleeping is the hobby. But recently, I sometimes play the keyboard [piano]. Like, "Maybe I'll play a little!" But at the keyboard, he's already there, Inoo-san (laugh) That's why I'd like to do it as a "hobby."

Yabu: Chinen's got a hobby!

Chii: On our days off, I'm at home resting, so I play with the computer.

(Naka: Since you're doing the keyboard, why don't you make songs on the computer?)

Chii: I don't have the skills to do that. I watch the news, and then I surf! (On the net)

Yabu: That's cool. I take walks. Like running, walking, running. Since there aren't that many people at night, and it's too hot to sleep anyway.

When JUMP members go out to eat, what do you often eat?

Chii: Because Yabu-kun treats us ne. [awww, such a gentleman]

Yabu: We go! Often it's meat. Also nabe and shabu shabu, like motsunabe** and yakiniku. Since we're guys, everyone likes that kind of thing. [**with organs offal] But with BEST (Arioka Daiki, Takaki Yuya, Inoo Kei, Yaotome Hikaru, Yabu Kota) we also go to traditional Japanese restaurants too. Recently, I said I liked hot springs, so I invited Chinen and Inoo-chan and we went to the public baths (laugh) [Wait! I want to hear more on this, why are we moving on!!]

Food you want to eat in the summer

Chii: Soba! Because it's cold. I don't like cold Chinese food. If I have to eat that, I'd rather eat ramen.

Yabu: I like everything you eat at BBQs. Even vegetables I don't really like normally taste really good, such as corn, onions, peppers, carrots. I can also eat tomatoes if they're grilled, which I hated to even put in my mouth before. When mini tomatoes are grilled, the sweetness comes out and it's really delicious. I want BBQ~ [no way! you can eat tomatoes now!!]

Things you're interested in right now?

Chii: Umm. Is there anything? I'm curious about the building that's being constructed over there, "Is that going to be an apartment?" Because I'm thinking that if I live alone, I want to live in a big skyscraper. I've been looking at the leaflets of the property for a long time.

Yabu: I don't know. What is it..

Since you'll be spending more time with the members this summer, something you want to say to them!

Chii: Summer... It'd be horrible if anybody got sunstroke from too much sun, so don't go out too much! Except for SUMMARY. Even in private. Don't go outside! (laugh)

Yabu: We'll be together everyday so let's all get through it on the same rhythm. When it's time to sleep, sleep! When it's time to be noisy, be noisy! I want to live such a varied lifestyle.

It seems that the members go watch the fireworks together every summer. X

Chinen It’s not every year, 3 years ago, when we were doing SUMMARY, there was a fireworks show, so only about 5 of us went after it was over.

Keito If we were to hang out with all 10 of us, then a barbeque would be nice. Everyone loves meat, so wouldn’t we get hyped up?

Chinen Un. A sports competition seems fun too, ne! I want to rent a huge stadium and play soccer with the 10 of us!


It seems that they record all of the shows that they appear on and watch it.▲

Chinen For me, my parents record it for me, so I sometimes watch it.

Keito I sometimes watch the dramas that the members appear in, but it’s embarrassing watching my own stuff, so I can’t watch it. Though I watched 3nenBgumi Kinpachi Sensei.

Chinen I also watched the last 30 minutes of it. The part where all of the graduates got their name called out by Kinpachi-sensei.

Keito At that part, I hardly appear! Even though within JUMP, Chinen was the only one that kept saying “I’ll watch the drama ne”….

Chinen I didn’t watch it because I believe that Keito will appear in a drama again! I mean, if I said “I watched it because I thought this would be Keito’s last drama” you would be sad right? (lol, this kid is good with coming up with excuses >.> but don’t worry Keito, I know Ryu-tan watched it for you, cuz he loves Kageura xD)

Keito Though it seems like you would be totally fine with saying such things (laughs).


It seems that on the last day of concerts and such, when someone cries, it drags everyone along and everyone starts to cry.▲

Keito Two years ago, during our concert at Tokyo Dome, everyone cried ne. Because it’s amazing to be able to do a concert at a dome after all.

Chinen Also, last year when we finished the first day of SUMMARY too. The preparations were barely on time and we were worried whether we could do it properly, so when we finished the real thing safe and sound, we were relieved and the tears just naturally came out.


It seems that the refreshments disappear at a really fast rate. O

Chinen When there’s 10 people, it’s like a struggle for refreshments ne. The one who is fastest at taking them is Yuto-kun!

Keito When Yuto gets to the location, the first thing he does is take the snacks and drinks that he likes and put it in his bag (laughs). (lol, does he still write his name on them? xD)


It seems that the members decide on a price and give each other presents on birthdays.▲

Chinen We did on Christmas last year! Each person bought a present that was within 5000 yen, and then it was decided by lottery.

Keito I got Dai-chan’s air-freshener, and Chinen got my folding umbrella.

Chinen I’m still using it now~. For me, at that time, cell phone games were popular among JUMP, so I bought a battery that would last twice as long. Dai-chan got it, but right after that, the game boom ended ne (laughs).


Gossip about Chinen

It seems that when there are no plans, he goes home from school and sleeps at 6PM. O
Yesterday and two days ago, I came home from school at 4 and fell asleep. I can always sleep anytime and anywhere. When I was in elementary school, my mom was a gymnastics teacher, so I often went to play in the gymnasium that had a classroom, but I fell asleep standing up on a rolled up mat in the storage room.

It seems that he’s so good at gymnastics that he got scouted by a circus group. O
During last year’s SUMMARY, when I did the trapeze, the person who taught me said to me, “If your work here doesn’t go well, you can come to this world.” I got the hang of the trapeze right after we started practicing. It wasn’t scary, but I was often practicing away from the other members, so it was lonely.

It seems that he exchanged purikura with Arashi’s Ohno-kun and they have each other’s pictures stuck on their phone. ▲
It wasn’t a purikura, Ohno-kun stuck a sticker of my face on his phone for me. He said, “Chinen-kun’s sticker won’t get worn out. It’s headstrong ne” (laughs).

Until about 2 years ago, I got hand-me-downs from Ryosuke, but we don’t have anything matching. A long time ago, Ryosuke held a sweater in his hands and went “This sweater is nice” so I said “Then I’ll buy one of a different color~” and then he said, “Then never mind”. In the end, I was the only one who bought it. It was a shock. Ah, but it’s true that I like Ryosuke <3 (YamaChii~<33)

Gossip about Keito

It seems that he actually eats a lot. ▲
Usually, I don’t eat that much. I’m fine with just one meal a day. But for some reason, when I’m with the members, they make me eat the leftovers. The other day too, when Yama-chan got tired of eating an onigiri, he put it in my mouth (laughs). (Oi! Yama-chan~~!! Stop feeding Keito your leftover food lol. And that goes for the other guys too! xD)

It seems that he’s so bad at kanji that he can’t even write his parent’s name. X
As expected, if it’s my parent’s name, then I can write it! Though I say that, almost all kanji is impossible. (Eh? But you read all those letters on radio just fine…being too modest lol.) Ah, but I can write “ringo”. (T/N: ringo=apple) I learned to remember how to write it on Hyakushiki Ou by “Kiki kiku Tomeko no muko”. (T/N: they basically broke the word for ringo “林檎” into parts, and made a sentence out of the parts. I remember that episode of Hyakushiki :D I learned how to write ringo that way too haha.) It really is a useful show! (yes it is! I’ve learned a lot xD)

He hates bugs and it seems that he calls cockroaches “Mr. G”. O
(T/N: cockroach=gokiburi in Japanese, so that’s why it’s Mr. G)
The word “gokiburi” just from the sound of it, I don’t like it. Other bugs are still fine, but only Mr. G is just impossible. Before, when I was with the members, it appeared and when I was being all frightened, Chinen came with a tissue and caught it and let it outside (laughs).

It seems that he does muscle training with Yamada and has Arioka take pictures. O
During tours, I’m often in the same room as Dai-chan, but Yama-chan comes over to play and says “Keito, let’s do muscle training!” And then the two of us do push-ups and sit-ups, and in the end, with our muscles pumped up, the Dai-chan by our side would take a picture for us!

It seems that he goes on overseas by himself many times. X
The only time I went alone was when I was in 5th grade and studied abroad in England for 5 years. Trips are more fun when you go with someone! But I have friends in the Philippines and America, so if it’s a trip on my own to see everyone, then that’s okay. (you are welcomed with open arms here, Keito xD)

In the first place, I don’t snap at other people. That’s why when I got a role that snaps easily in Kinpachi Sensei, I thought “This person can often get this angry~” (laughs). In my case, the feeling of anger turns into tears. When I get blamed by the other person I become sad and go “Stop it~.” I’m quite a crybaby. I mean, just by saying “Stop it~” just now, I feel like crying.

Congratulations for graduating from an international high school in June. How was your high school life?“It was really hard doing both work and going to school. Within those three years, I think I’ve done about 10 all-nighters. (laughs)” Right now, he’s in the middle of preparing to go to college. “I don’t know how other people feel, but for me, when I think about how I’ll live in the future with just the knowledge that I learned from high school, I feel uneasy. R: Vacation… Vacation. I only went on vacations inside of Japan. So I want to go outside of Japan.

C: Yeah same with me. The are more people who haven't been to every part of Japan.

C: We went a while ago. To Fukuoka

C: It was fun. We ate Mentaiko. We get to eat like the famous things in those area so.

R: Italy or France.

C: Yeah since the soccer teams are good.

R: No. My parent just really likes to brag. With that I mean like they say things like “Ryutaro, have you been to Paris before?” like that “Paris is great so go”

R: My mom.

R: Yeah. She says like “Rome Empire is really great”

Q1) Where is your favorite place in school?
- When I was in elementary, I like the library~ When its raining, Im reading books, or reading the graphic books with my friends while listening to the rain sound.

Q2) What are the memories in club activities?
- When I was still in grade 5, I was in table tennis club. (i was in it too when I was in grade 4 xD) It seems so fun so I joined the club. My skill average in table tennis is, Im not good and Im not bad, average (laugh).

Q3) What are the memories in committee meeting?
- I was in discipline committe (same as Yamada). I was collecting money. Im standing in the staircase and competing whether who will collect the most between the committee members (laugh).

Q4) What is your episode with the past teacher?
- When my teacher watch the working me in the TV, she will text me. When she texted me "Its Kouhaku", i was very happy!

Q5) Do you have any memories of Spring vacation?
- When I was in elementary, me and my friends went to Hamanako Hanahaku (place in Japan). The fiels was so huge and we played Hide-And-Seek and Guessing Place game.

Q6) What is your memories of the way to go to school?
- Im changing the going-to-school way and going-to-home way. When I go to the same way, I'll just get tire of it, right? I was walking the river side and finding my own fun!

Q7) What is your favorite lunch?
- I always don't finish the food (cry). I was always pleasing them to put just little amount of food, but still it was too many for me and I wasnt able to finish it, so I was eating alone in the classroom.

Q8) Is the study for test is hard?
- I was concentrating and browsing my book the night before! When I was in 1st year high school (koukou1) , I got a perfect score in math! Before I graduate, I want to get 100 again.

Q9) What is the subject of your report card?
- It was written "Don't worry, he seems like he's enjoying the school hours" (laugh). I look like this, but Im not that troublesome child (laugh)

Q10) In graduation, how will you confess to the girl you like?
- I might say "Even if we are in separate school, I want to start a long distance relationship with you" (laugh). It was in a serious mood but I want to make her laugh. Maybe after the graduation, I might give her my second button! (In Japan, when the girl was given a boy's second button, it means like, she is the number one girl in his life.)
